A Pass has taken aim at the newly formed Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) over its unreliable power supply, humorously comparing the flickering lights in his home to a "disco."
During a TikTok live session, the artist’s broadcast was disrupted by unstable electricity, prompting him to vent his frustration.
Seizing the moment, A Pass criticized UEDCL, which assumed control of electricity distribution from Umeme in April 2025, citing frequent blackouts and erratic power supply since the transition.
"I’m just showing you how electricity works in Uganda. This is what we deal with—our homes turned into discos thanks to the lights!" A Pass quipped, adding, "You can call this film ‘Hungry Days.’ Honestly, candles might be a better option at this point."
His remarks follow similar criticism from Sheebah Karungi, who recently returned to Uganda after a six-month maternity leave in Canada. Sheebah also called out UEDCL for persistent blackouts, echoing growing frustration among Ugandans over the state-owned company’s handling of electricity distribution.
