For nearly a decade, Catherine Kusasira has been an outspoken advocate within the ruling government. When various artists chose to align themselves with Bobi Wine in opposition politics, she, along with a few others, remained a steadfast supporter of the NRM and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Eventually, she was appointed as a presidential advisor responsible for matters concerning Kampala and the ghetto communities. Despite her long-standing loyalty, Kusasira has repeatedly condemned the lack of respect from certain NRM leaders.

The singer even went as far as threatening to leave the party, arguing that despite her tireless efforts for the NRM, her work is valued only by the President and a select few. She believes that her contributions should be recognized by everyone, including the security officials who often prevent her from meeting the President.

In her own words, she stated, "I am tired of the disrespect from some people in the NRM. How could you dare stop me from meeting with General Nalweyiso? I have done great things for the NRM, but it's only the President who acknowledges them. At times, I even think about quitting the party and concentrating on other things."

Previously, Catherine Kusasira had expressed her desire to contest for the Buikwe Woman MP position, but she now appears to have shifted her focus. At present, she is concentrating on further promoting the party.
