Singer Mikie Wine has clarified that he does not plan to pursue any political position in the upcoming 2026 general elections. Although he is notably the younger brother of NUP leader Bobi Wine, Mikie firmly maintains that his primary focus remains on his music career, making a political office unnecessary for him. He emphasizes that not holding an official political role does not hamper his ability to use his influential voice to drive positive change in society—a role he has consistently upheld throughout his career.
Mikie Wine also indicated that while he is not currently interested in entering politics, he remains open to the possibility of exploring his political ambitions after the 2026 elections. In his own words, he explained,
"I always say that we will cross that bridge when we reach it. My focus is still on my music, and I don’t need a political office in order to speak out or offer advice. You can advocate for change and correct injustice from any position in society. God blessed me with the voice and the insight to discern right from wrong, so I do not require an official position to effect change, especially when those in office sometimes fail to deliver on their promises."
This statement underscores his belief that meaningful impact comes from using one’s inherent abilities rather than relying solely on the authority that accompanies political office.
