At the recently concluded Africa Business and Investment Forum at Inspire Africa Coffee Park in Ntungamo, Uganda Baati Limited reaffirmed its dedication to accelerating Uganda’s industrialization through its innovative Building Systems solutions: SAFBUILD, SAFCOOL, and SAFSOLAR.

As Uganda strives toward a tenfold economic expansion under the National Development Plan IV (NDP IV), challenges such as underdeveloped industrial infrastructure, high construction costs, and unreliable energy supply continue to hinder progress. Investors, manufacturers, and agro-processors face persistent obstacles due to the lack of scalable, climate-resilient structures.

“Uganda Baati has partnered with innovators like Inspire Africa Group, designing, detailing, supplying, and installing 90% of the steel structures at the entire park,” said Ian Rumanyika, Uganda Baati’s head of external and corporate affairs, on May 23. “Our vision is to effectively support industrialization with our latest innovations and contribute to economic growth.”

The SAFBUILD system, instrumental in constructing the Inspire Africa Coffee Park, provides modular steel structures that cut construction time by up to 50%. SAFCOOL offers advanced insulation technology tailored for temperature-sensitive industries such as agro-processing and pharmaceuticals, while SAFSOLAR delivers clean, off-grid energy solutions to help industries overcome Uganda’s energy challenges and reduce their carbon footprint.

The forum, held as part of the Africa Coffee Marathon, provided a crucial platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and investors to address Africa’s industrialization bottlenecks and explore solutions for sustainable economic growth.

Key discussions featured insights from regional leaders and development stakeholders, including Claver Serumaga, representing the CEO of Equity Group Holdings, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, and senior officials from the National Planning Authority, Uganda Investment Authority, and UNDP.

“Value addition is essential to Uganda’s economic progress, supporting our evolving economy,” Serumaga emphasized in his keynote address. “The time is now—Africa’s renaissance will be built and led by Africans, adding value at every stage.”

Nelson Tugume, CEO of Inspire Africa, praised Uganda Baati’s role in the rapid development of the park and its contribution to organizing the Africa Coffee Marathon.

“Uganda Baati’s partnership has propelled the park’s momentum, laying the foundation for over 90% of its structures. Their support has been instrumental in operationalizing the park and advancing Uganda’s industrialization sector.”

Panel discussions underscored the importance of strategic partnerships, business resilience, and sustainable solutions for industrial growth. Overcoming Africa’s industrial challenges requires coordinated efforts focused on infrastructure innovation, policy reform, and investment in localized solutions that drive value addition and inclusive development.

As Uganda continues prioritizing value addition and job creation under NDP IV, Uganda Baati remains committed to delivering building systems that foster inclusive, sustainable industrialization, empowering businesses and industries to thrive in a competitive global economy.
