Germany on Monday dismissed Uganda’s accusations against its ambassador, calling them “absurd and baseless.”

At a press conference in Berlin, German Federal Foreign Office spokesperson Kathrin Deschauer clarified that Germany has no formalized military cooperation with Uganda.

On Sunday, the Ugandan military announced the suspension of all defense and military ties with Germany, citing “credible intelligence reports” alleging Ambassador Mathias Schauer's involvement in subversive activities.

Deschauer stated that Germany was unaware of any context or justification for such claims.
