Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has paid tribute to legendary midfielder Luka Modric, who has announced his departure from the club after more than a decade of dedicated service to Los Blancos.

Modric, a Croatian international and former Tottenham Hotspur player, will leave Real Madrid following the FIFA Club World Cup. His exit coincides with that of manager Carlo Ancelotti, who is set to take charge of the Brazilian national team at the end of the season.

Taking to social media, Mbappe praised Modric as both an exceptional footballer and a remarkable individual. The former Paris Saint-Germain forward expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play alongside the veteran midfielder, describing him as one of the greatest players in football history.

“I was lucky enough to be able to play and share the locker room with you this season,” Mbappe wrote on Instagram. “But you won something that has no price: the respect and admiration of the world. Thank you for everything, LEGEND.”

Modric, who joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, spent 13 years at the club, securing an impressive 28 trophies during his tenure at the Santiago Bernabeu.
