Lionel Messi, the Inter Miami star, continues to top Major League Soccer’s earnings chart for the second year running, according to newly released data from the MLS Players Association. The 38-year-old earns a guaranteed $20.45 million annually, not including additional income from major endorsements like Adidas and a revenue-sharing deal with Apple, the league’s broadcast partner.

Estimates from Sportico suggest Messi could earn as much as $150 million over the course of his two-and-a-half-year contract, which began in the summer of 2023.

Trailing him in earnings is Toronto FC’s Lorenzo Insigne, with a guaranteed $15.44 million. Messi’s teammate Sergio Busquets ranks third at $8.5 million, followed by Atlanta United’s Miguel Almirón at $7.87 million and San Diego FC’s Hirving “Chucky” Lozano at $7.63 million
